Merry Christmas Year 5!

We have had a wonderful week filled with fabulous christmassy activities. We are all feeling in the Christmas spirit. It's been great!

At the start of the week, we enjoyed watching the pantomime of 'Sleeping Beauty'. There were lots of laughs and giggles as we joined in at the different parts. We cheered as good triumphed over evil and it all ended happily ever after.

On Wednesday, it was time for our school Christmas dinner. It was a festive feast! We pulled crackers, shared jokes, wore our party hats andtucked into turkey. It was delicious and we enjoyed listening and singing along to Christmas songs as we ate.

On Thursday, it was our Christmas party day. We had great fun as a class as we played Christmassy games such as musical statues and Snowman drive. Prizes were won and giggles were many. We then went on to share our Christmas spirit with the school and our parents during our Christmas carol service. During the service, we retold the story of Jesus's birth through hymns. Your singing was beautiful, and it was lovely to able to all be together once again.

On Friday, the theme of singing outside continued as we went onto the playground to sing the 12 Days of Christmas with the rest of school. This is a Wybunbury Christmas tradition. It was lots of fun doing all the actions.

This week, we have also been busy completing study work and creating our automata toys as part of our DT project. We measured, sawed and glued wooden pieces together to create the frame for our automata toy. We then added dowels and cogs to create the mechanisms. We still have the decorative elements to add in the new year. You have done a great job and they are looking great. Well done!

Before we say farewell for Christmas, I want to say a huge well done to all of you. Each and every one of you has worked so hard this term and achieved so much. I am very proud of you and I hope you are proud of yourselves too. I hope you have a well deserves rest over Christmas, and I can't wait to see you all in the new year for a new term of learning adventures to begin.

Mrs Whittingham and myself also want to say a huge thank you for the wonderful gifts and cards we have received. We both feel very blessed and are keeping them safe until Christmas Day.

Have a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year,

Miss P
