Welcome to Year 3
Year 3 is taught by Mr Dale with learning support being provided by Miss Holland on Monday and Tuesday mornings. Mrs Hall will support our learning on a Wednesday.
Welcome to Year 3! I I hope you all have a brilliant summer holidays and are feeling refreshed, ready for a brand new year of learning! I hope our Autumn Term will be fun, exciting and packed full of interesting facts and moments. So what will our focus be this term? Pharaohs, pyramids and papyrus paper — that's right! We are delving back over 4000 years ago into the mysterious world of Ancient Egypt! Our learning will be underpinned by two books, the first 'There's a Pharaoh in my Bath; tells the amusing story of a lost king of Ancient Egypt stuck in modern times as told by Jeremy Strong. Egyptian Cinderella is our second book, which is full of interesting language and a story that's sure to excite us!
During the term, we will be learning about deserts, light, rocks and so much more. Please read the Holistic Plan to find out exactly what we'll be doing. Click here to view our Holistic Plan
You can also see our newsletter here, this will tell you lots more about the exciting term ahead, including trips and key dates!
I am very excited about this term and I hope you are too. Remember to keep working hard, keep being resilient and keep trying your best because that's what is most important.
To help you be organised for the week, you need to know that your P.E. lessons will be taking place on a Tuesday afternoon for 1 hour with Mrs Jenkins. Please ensure all PE kits are in school and clearly labelled.
Homework will be set and discussed every Friday.
Weekly SPaG homework will be set via SPaG.com. This will support classroom learning from that week.
TT Rockstars can be used to boost your times table knowledge!
Please record all reading in your reading diaries every week. I would like to see at least three entries. Remember to try and read as many of the reading challenge books as you can! You can review this on our brand new reading website — which can be found here — Each review = A Headteacher's Award! Our website is www.y3reading.weebly.com
