Year 3 Summer term!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter! We are starting a new topic all about something super exciting – The Environment! We will be exploring how we can help our planet, properties of plants andNon-Renewable and Renewable Energy. We have a great selection of books that we will be delving into over the term. Our favourite five books for this term are:

  • ‘Why the Whales Came’ by Michael Morpurgo
  • ‘Little People, BIG DREAMS Greta Thunberg’ by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara
  • ‘10 things I can do to help my world’ by Melanie Walsh
  • ‘Green Files, Climate in Crisis’ by Steve Parker
  • ‘Last Tree in the City’ by Peter Carnavas

I can't wait for all this exciting learning,
Miss Holliwell

Useful Information

To help you be organised for the week, you need to know that your P.E. lessons will be taking place on a Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Jenkins and Friday afternoons with me. Please remember to come to school dressed in your PE kits every Tuesday and Friday.

Homework will be set and discussed every Friday. This will be either SPaG.com or maths.co.uk depending on what is needed. Please use TT Rockstars to boost your times table knowledge!

Please record all reading in your reading diaries every week. Remember that every time you read you record it in your diary. Please bring in your reading wallets (reading records, read aloud books and response books) each day.

You can also try and read as many of the reading challenge books as you can! You can review this on our brand new reading website.

Click here to view the Year 3 Recommended Read List! You can download a tick list to see how many you have read.

Happy Reading!
