Welcome to Year 3
Year 3 is taught by Miss McCurrie and teaching and learning is supported by Mrs Parker every morning.
Welcome back to Wybunbury Delves, our new school year and a brand new key stage! Year 3 will be taught by me, Miss McCurrie and teaching and learning will be supported by Mrs Parker who I know lots of you know really well. I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you as we start our Y3 journey together.
I hope you all had a lovely summer break. I have already enjoyed hearing all about your summer adventures!
This term's 'Journeys and Discoveries' theme in Year 3 will be 'The Romans'. We will be reading lots of non fiction books to find out information about what life was like in Roman times. We will start our big art by learning about the Roman army and will make some fantastic Roman shields. Lots of books will support our learning journey this term about the Romans and here are some of the key books we will be reading:
The Usborne Official Roman Soldier's Handbook
Escape from Pompeii by Christina Balit
Meet the Ancient Romans by James Davies
The Street Beneath my Feet by Charlotte Guillain
We have some other fantastic stories which we will use to support our learning about journeys and Discoveries which we will reveal these along the way. I will keep you updated with our favourites!
To help you be organised for the week, you need to know that your P.E. lessons will be taking place on a Thursday afternoon with Mrs Jenkins. Please remember to come to school dressed in your PE kits every Thursday.
Forest School lessons are every Wednesday morning. Please come to school dressed in your forest school clothing.
Sportscape PE lessons will take place Wednesday afternoon. Please bring in your kit in your PE bag to get changed at school.

Please record all reading in your reading diaries every week. Remember that every time you read you record it in your diary. Please bring in your reading wallets (reading records, read aloud books and response books) each day.
You can also try and read as many of the reading challenge books as you can! You can review this on our brand new reading website -- which can be found here -- Our website is www.y3reading.weebly.com
