Intent

Our school aim is to 'Light the spark for a love of learning and of life.'

To excite and promote a love of learning and enable pupils to make at least good progress, teachers plan a stimulating, literacy-led, cross curricular focus for study each term which captures your child's interest and imagination whilst embedding the '3 R's' of reading, writing and maths. Our starting point is the National Curriculum. More information about what each class learn can be found on their class page.

Inspired by Matthew 5:16, our curriculum is designed to cultivate a community of learners who are empowered to "let their light shine" – to discover and develop their individual talents, embrace their unique potential, and use their knowledge and skills to illuminate the world around them.

Discovery and Development of Individual Gifts:

• We believe every child possesses unique gifts and talents. Our curriculum strives to create diverse learning opportunities that allow our children to explore their passions, discover their strengths, and develop their full potential.
• We aim to provide a wide range of experiences in the arts, sciences, humanities, and practical skills, enabling students to find their "light."

Ethical Character and Moral Compass:

• We are committed to nurturing our children's ethical development, build on our Christian values – the fruits of the spirit
• We encourage our children to reflect on their actions and consider the impact they have on their communities and the world.

Social Responsibility and Service:

• We believe that knowledge and talents should be used to serve others and make a positive difference in the world.
• Our curriculum incorporates opportunities for our children to engage in community service, develop empathy, and become active, responsible citizens.

Inspirational Learning Environment:

• We create a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

We strive to ignite a "spark" within each child, empowering them to pursue their passions and make meaningful contributions.

Holistic Development:

• We are committed to the whole child, supporting their spiritual, moral, social, cultural, and academic development.

We want to create well balanced individuals who understand their place within the world.
