Wow. What a wonderful final week before Christmas.
We have had a fun filled week!
In Maths this week, we have learnt about multiplying by 11 and 12. We learnt about using our knowledge of our 10 times table to support this. We just need to add one or two more lots of what we were multiplying by. We have also learnt about the rules for multiplying by 0 and 1.
In our RE lesson this week, we learnt more about Jesus' light. We learnt about the Christingle. We learnt what each part symbolises and even made our own! We then considered how Christians act as lights of the world by following in the footsteps of Jesus. Mrs Hughes very kindly came into class to discuss this with us. We hope that you enjoy lighting your Christingles at home.
In our Art lesson this week, we brought together all of our learning to create our final piece. Using our tessellated designs, we created a pattern. Inside each of these designs, we then added our own rule to create another pattern. We carefully thought about our use of media and colour.
In our Computing lessons this week, we completed our Podcasts. We were able to Jin all of our speaking clips whilst also adding a jingle to the middle and the end as well as a sound effect alongside our speaking.
In Geography, we explored the environmental regions in the Americas in more detail. We studied 7 different locations and used our atlas to identify where they are located. We also looked at a view from a window collaborative project. We saw images from around the world and one from Bogota, Colombia caught our eye. We studied what the image told us, and our discussions led us to think about how densely populated the surrounding area was. To end our discussion we asked for a volunteer to take a view from our class window. To view our photo alongside others, please click here
On Wednesday, we enjoyed watching the Beauty and the Beast Pantomime. We have also enjoyed getting into the festive spirit with our games, colouring, party day, quizzes, Christmas lunch, film and so much more.
This week, we were thrilled to be able to share our Christmas service. Even though this didn't turn out how we planned, we hope that you are able to enjoy sharing our worship with loved ones at home.
We have not set any homework for Christmas. We just hope that you enjoy your festive time together.
Thank you for all of our gifts and cards. It is so very kind. We look forward to seeing you all after Christmas.
