And just like that our first term together has come to an end!
On Monday, in RE we finished off our unit about Peter and how he was forgiven by Jesus. We created a comic strip of the story to enhance our writing. We have enjoyed seeing the Easter story from someone else's perspective. We also discussed our big question of the day which was...'what has chocolate got to do with Easter?'. In music you finished off your work all about Andrew Lloyd Webber. You have finished your statistics topic with Mrs Swan working so hard on tables this week! In the afternoon, you have your first first aid session for our first aid week. You learnt all about who you could call incase of an emergency and how to help a casualty in need. You practised your courageous advocey song which was beautiful and did some great actions to go along with this. Then you spent time colouring your posters about reducing plastic.
On Tuesday, in maths you started to divide 2 digit by a 1 digit numbers by partitioning the numbers and dividing the tens and ones. Then you created bird feeders using plastic bottles, scissors and string. Whilst finishing your posters and RE comic strips. In the afternoon, in PE hockey you learnt how to pass in 3 different ways the push pass, hit and slap! Then you practiced our courageous advocacy song with all the actions.
On Wednesday, you continued to divide 2 digit by 1 digit numbers. Then wrote up your information text about the Pyramids of Giza for study work. You used your very best handwriting and made sure it was super neat and tidy. Then after lunch, you had your second lesson of our first aid week all about burns and scolds. You learnt how to treat a burn and a scold using cold water and cling film. In computing, you continued on code studio using all your coding skills to debug different games.
On Thursday, you continued to dividing 2 digit by 1 digit numbers and learnt what a remainder was. You continued your study work writing up and made sure you were using your neatest writing and colouring. You then explored the different poles of a magnet in Science and explained what happens when you try to join the same poles together and the opposite poles together.
On Friday, you mastered dividing 2 digit by 1 digit numbers with remainders. Then you created your final moveable figure using all your skills to create a moveable Egyptian God or Goddess. In the afternoon, you used your Hockey skills to undergo a hockey relay race. You showed me how well you knew how to dribble, move and stop the ball. As well as using your 3 types of passes (push pass, hit and slap). Well done year 3! Then you finished off the week with some Easter colouring and word searches!
