Year 2's SUPER Theme Day: 12.7.22

Yesterday was our amazing Superhero topic day and what a fantastic time we all had!

It was brilliant to see you all arrive in your creative costumes. There were capes, masks, face paint, robes and even an Evil Pea from one of our stories! We started our day with a costume competition and then spent a bit of time colouring and quiet reading. Afterwards, we then played a funny "design your own superhero" game in pairs. It was so funny seeing your creations.

At break time we perfected our superhero poses and it was a good job too as in our next job we filmed ourselves in super slow motion like the real superheroes from the films. We laughed and giggled as we watched our slow motion kicks, spins and poses on the big screen (with a cake or two of course). We then used the app "Marvel Heroes" to create our own versions of Spiderman, Iron Man and other characters. They all turned out great!

After lunch, we took part in the "Superhero Olympics". We threw frisbees into targets just like Captain America would and we slung bean bags into a webbed target like Spiderman. It was fantastic to see you all working hard in your teams! We then spent the rest of the after sewing to create our fantastic superhero masks. We finished our day with a Superhero episode and a yummy cake from Katie.

A huge thank you to all the parents who made such fantastic costumes and brought in yummy treats for our day. Without you fun days like this would not be possible.
