Another fantastic week has passed us by in Year 2. We've all worked hard and had lots of fun throughout the week...
In English we focused upon writing recounts all about our school trip to Jodrell Bank. We completed a number of short burst writes linked to the SPaG we wanted to include in our writing. We looked at contractions, past tense and thought about our joined handwriting as we got underway with our writing. I was so impressed with your recounts full of information about our amazing day. Well done, Year 2!
In Maths we completed our assessments this week. We worked hard to have a go at our arithmetic paper whereby we all used our methods to help us answer a range of questions. We also took on our reasoning paper. It was fantastic to see everyone using their problem solving skills to answer a range of tricky reasoning problems.
Along with our Maths assessments we also completed two reading papers this week. I was so proud seeing you all use your comprehension skills to answer all the questions in the quiz.
We also took part in the Infant Sportshall athletics competition. You were all fantastic in showing off your sporting skills and competitive spirit. Well done!
In Music, we continued to hone our skills with the recorder. We continued to build upon our knowledge from previous lessons and it was brilliant to hear your musical skills on show.
We were very busy with practising our Nativity this week. We managed to speak and sing beautifully as we shared our retelling of the Christmas story with our school and parents and carers. A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who came to watch us deliver the message of Christmas.
Have a lovely weekend,
