This week has been full of learning and laughter...

This week in English, Year 2 focused on writing reports. We planned and wrote a non-fiction report about our school, Wybunbury Delves Primary School. We included detailed paragraphs on a range of subheadings such as playtimes, lessons and uniform, using key information and facts. Alongside this, we continued to perfect our handwriting, recapping key joins and spellings. Well done, Year 2!

In Maths, we tackled a range of problem-solving problems and revisited key concepts in preparation for our SATS next week. We explored the concept of 1/4 and 3/4 of an amount, as well as counting up money. We also triumphed in our TT Rockstars battle, answering over 30,000 questions in just one week! Great job!

In Reading, we continued to answer a range of past SATS questions and read a variety of texts, including both fiction and non-fiction. We also worked on our phonics sounds and speedy reading skills.

We continued with our new History unit all about our big question of "Why was Queen Elizabeth II so important?" We recapped the line of succession and discussed King Charles' coronation. From this, we thought about questions to ask King Charles if we could interview him. Next week, we will delve deeper into the life of Queen Elizabeth.

In Art, we utilised our pop art skills to create portraits of King Charles. We incorporated Roy Lichenstein and Andy Warhol's designs to add bright, bold colours and ben day dots to our artwork.

During Computing, we used the app comic book maker to create mini comic books. We were able to add voices and characters to bring our comic books alive via the app. Well done, everyone! We will build on this next week as we attempt to use the app "Comic Caption".

In our Heartsmart session, we focused on the first lesson of "Fake is a mistake". We discussed how trying to be someone we are not can lead to problems and emphasised that telling lies is not the way to go.

Lastly, in P.E, we worked on our kicking and passing abilities during our sports coaching sessions. We all worked hard and had a fun time.

What a fantastic week, Year 2! Who knew we could fit so much into just four days? Keep up the great work!
