Sports week has been so much fun in Year 3 this week! On Tuesday, Archie's dad taught us some rugby skills, throwing, catching and the importance of listening to your teammates. Thursday saw Mr Broughton come in to school teaching us tennis and Friday a cricket lesson, Harry from Chance to Shine, too!

This week in English, we finished our Iron Man trap explanations and wow – they are fantastic! We will now send them off to the major and see which trap he decides to build to keep the town safe from the Iron Man! You focused on editing, paragraphing and fronted adverbials this week.

We also continued our spelling work on the prefix re-.

In maths, we recapped column addition and subtraction, fractions of shapes and balance equations. You worked very hard and I tried to trick you a few times with 3 step problems but there is no tricking you now! You are double checking your answers and making sure you are not in the silly mistake gang! We also worked on presentation of maths work and how this can help us when working out problems. Well done Y3.

We completed another times tables test. Many of you are now completing well inside the time, which is amazing!

We also played on TT Rockstars, which is always a highlight of our week!

In computing this week, you watched your green screen recordings back and decided what pictures you would like in the background of your news report. You opened safari, searched for pictures using key phrases, saved photos and used them on your green screen video. We will complete this next week. You also wrote up your script for your study work book and a few of your even chose to present your work in pen which was lovely to see.

In Heartsmart, we looked at how images aren't always real. We studied some altered images, picking out what we thought had been edited and saying how. We discussed that it's important to stay real and not be fake, like the photos. We also talked about how good relationships are built on strong, truthful foundations.

We have been busy creating work for our study work books. We are amazed at how much work we have! We're going to need a long time to stick all of our work in!

Have a lovely week.
