What a Christmassy week we have had in Year 4!
Throughout the week, we have had many Christmas celebrations including our Christmas party, Christmas film and Christmas games. We also had the fantastic opportunity to watch this year's pantomime – Sleeping Beauty. It was so funny and we loved every moment! We also enjoyed our Christmas lunch together in Year 4. We set up the tables together and enjoyed our crackers and lunch together.
Throughout the week, we have also finished off a couple of our subjects in preparation for next year. We have completed our Viking purses. We have also been working on our studywork books to showcase the amazing work which has taken place over our first term in Year 4. In Geography, we played a quiz to locate the Scandinavian countries on a interactive map and had a quick fire question round to recap our key knowledge from all our lessons this term. We then got into country teams to complete our fact files. We had learnt about a type of poem called a Kenning in English, so when we were asked to write one in RE we were able to link back to this learning with confidence. We chose which key words would best summarise why Christians believe the birth of Jesus was Good News. We collected our ideas and reordered them to create 15 different poems!
I have not set any homework for the children this term as this time is all about spending time with family and friends and I hope that you can all do this.
We also hope that you all enjoy watching our Year 3/4 Virtual Nativity at home.
I would just like to end by saying a huge thank you for your kind wishes, cards and gifts. I feel very blessed. I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I hope that you all enjoy time spent with your families.
