It's been a busy old, final week of 2021!!
Years 1 and 2 finished our gymnastics unit. We set the big wall apparatus up, along with the boxes and lots of mats. We worked in groups and rotated around all of the stations, making our own routines to consolidate the skills we have learned this term. We particularly enjoyed climbing up, through and around the big, blue wall bars. We had great fun!
Year 3 also finished our gymnastics unit. Again, we created short routines, in groups, rotating around all of the stations including the big wall bars! We had a great time climbing to the top! We also played 'lava', where we could only move around the hall using mats and apparatus.
Year 4 finished the term by playing musical games on and off the wall bars. We had to stay off the floor, only using mats and the bars and then we had great fun creating our own mini Parkour course, jumping over apparatus and mats and adding in turns in mid air!
Year 5 played chance choreography. We had a list of formation variations numbered 1-6 and a list of actions also numbered 1-6. We had to roll a dice to pick a formation then roll again for an action. We did this four times and then created a routine from our results. We showed our routines to the rest of the class and they had to guess which formations and actions we danced. We then finished off with a dance to the Cha Cha Slide and then a game of musical statues. It was great fun!
Year 6 had a slightly shorter session due to some photos with Mrs B so we decided to have a bit of a dance off! We performed numerous Just Dance routines ranging from Charleston to Can Can and Gangnam Style, to see who was still dancing at the end! We were amazing with lots of us still going strong by the finish!
Another great week of PE again!
Thank you for the lovely gifts and cards. They are very much appreciated!
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Rest, have fun and eats lots!
See you in 2022!
