What an amazing First Aid Week we have had! The range of practical experiences have really enhanced our new knowledge and enjoyment of learning these essential life skills. We have been identifying hazards, learning about what first aid is and managing different first aid scenarios. We were also very grateful to welcome Miss Taylor back to help give an insight into what we need to say when we call 999. A huge thank you to all the staff for leading these sessions and a big shout out goes to Mr Harrison Blount who shared his First Aid expertise with Years 4, 5 and 6. The practical sessions were excellent.
As part of the week we learnt about our Wybunbury Delves 'First Aid Five'. These five steps act as reminders if we ever need to help give First Aid.
1. Stay safe and remain calm.
2. Identify any hazards.
3. Get an adult's help.
4. Give reassurance to those who need it.
5. Call the emergency services if needed.
Your child may like to role play how to call the emergency services or talk about one of the first aid topics that they have been learning about.
Click here to watch some short KS2 films which explore a range of key skills for administering first aid.
Have a wonderful Easter holiday.
