Year 5 Weekly News

Home » News » Year 5 Weekly News

This week has zoomed by! We have been so busy writing our letters to Mrs Chesters to apply for our Year 6 jobs that I didn't notice it was already Friday!

Across the week, we have worked hard on persuasive letters. We learnt about modal verbs at the beginning of the week, and then we moved on to learn about the key features of a persuasive letter. After picking our top three jobs, we then composed our letters. It was such a treat to be able to read them. You have all written so eloquently; Mrs Chesters is going to be so proud of her brilliant Year 5 writers.

In Maths, we have been learning about parallel and perpendicular lines. For one of our activities you had to create your own flag (which tied in beautifully with our afternoon topic which was all about 'Around the World'). We then used this knowledge to identify and describe irregular and regular polygons.

Have a great weekend,

Miss P
