You have all continued to wow me this week. You have worked so unbelievably hard on each task you have been set. In particular, you have all taken on our new challenge of Decimals really well. This is something we did not get round to doing in school and even though it is a new concept, you have all done amazingly well. Throughout our Maths this week, we have learnt about tenths as a decimal and how to divide by 10. Using place value grids, we learnt how the value of our digits became 10 times smaller and moved down the place value grid to become a smaller value.
In our English work this week we have been focusing on writing biographies. Our learning project this week was based on famous people. We took the opportunity this week to learn about someone new. At the beginning of the week, you researched facts about your famous person, you then looked at the features of a biography and ensured you had information which was suitable for the subheadings you were given. Then, you were able to use examples to write your own biographies. In our spag lessons this week, we learnt about subordinating and coordinating conjunctions. You worked hard on this and showed a great understanding. On Friday, we had a spelling lesson based on learning and using the year 3/4 statutory spellings.
Our topic this week has been famous people. Many of you researched famous people of your choice, created fact files and art work. Well done.
I cannot finish this week's website update without mentioning our Virtual Town Sports. I am so so so proud of each and every one of you who took parts in the events. There were five events to choose from and for each of you who took part, you earned a point for school. So, I would like to say a HUGE thank you! I absolutely loved seeing the interesting equipment you used to complete each task and the talent, determination and dedication you showed.
I am contuining to miss your smiling faces but love seeing what you are up to on SeeSaw. I hope you all have another amazing week!
