Our Friday this week was a very special one. Instead of our normal uniform, we came dressed in our best party outfits as it was party day. We went on the field to enjoy a socially distanced whole school picnic. It was so lovely being able to see everyone (even from a far). We celebrated all of the birthday parties we missed because of lockdown by signing happy birthday and blowing lots of bubbles. What a wonderful day it was.

We started the week off with English. Our English lessons were combined with History and Computing. At the beginning of the week, we created a fact file using everything we have learnt over the term about the Stone Age. We then turned this fact file into a Google Slides presentation. This required us to develop our typing skills and learn how to add and format slides. Next week, we will be finishing them off by learning how to add and format pictures.

In maths, we have been learning about weight. We learnt that you can measure how heavy something is by using grams or kilograms. Using this knowledge, we were able to solve some tricky problems. Well done. We then paused our learning on weight as we focused on how to find a missing number in an addition or subtraction sentence. This was a little challenging at first, but once we mastered using a number line to help us it became much easier.

In our afternoons, we have been focusing on study work. We are well on the way to getting our beautiful books finished. We also completed our 'Health and Relationship' lessons. We were super scientists for this as we learnt about how female and male bodies are different. We also talked about how different objects can be viewed as male and others female. However, after much discussion, we decided that everything is for everyone. As part of our learning, we were also visited by the dentist who helped us learn how to keep our teeth healthy.

In RE this week, we continued our learning on baptism. We investigated the promises that godparents make and discussed what they meant and why they were important.

This week in music we spoke about the coda section of our Friendship song and how we learnt to sing it last week. We then stood in a semi-circle so we could all see the screen and we practiced adding some actions to the lyrics. We all had our own ideas so Miss Holland told us to add the actions we wanted and to express ourselves through these actions whilst singing. We did really well! Our actions really brought the song alive!

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend,

Miss P
