Week two and we have Zoomed!

Well Y6 what a week we have had. From teaching the teacher to Zooming with your friends, you have completed another fantastic week of home learning. I am super proud of you and all your enthusiasm for tackling all tasks.

In Maths this week we have completed our unit on angles within shapes and moved on to investigate different parts of a circle. You have used your knowledge of the radius and diameter to work out different problems. Well done Year 6. You have completed an arithmetic paper today and I am so proud of your growing results.

In English this week we have worked on instructional writing and also thought about how we are feeling when we think about transitioning into high school. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all your instructions when teaching me a new skill this week. From making frothy coffee to trying a ballet move in my slippers, I have followed your steps as carefully and as safely as I could. You have also thought hard about different areas of high school and made great notes for our first Zoom call.

I know how much you were looking forward to our meeting and how excited you were. I can honestly say that each and every one of you warm my heart. Joining just to listen or to share your views, you are stars. We talked through some of your worries and also the areas you are really looking forward to. I know food and lockers are top of your list. I will organise another Zoom meet for us next week.

You have finished your week off with a spelling and grammar task and you have definitely earned your weekend break.
