Hello Reception class,
It has been lovely this week to see you all preparing for today's VE day celebrations. I have seen some beautifully decorated and written invitations to your family members, menus discussed and written up on very posh menu boards, singing practice of we'll meet again, cakes baked and some wonderfully creative bunting to decorate your front windows and dining rooms.
I especially liked the memories you have shared about family members who were alive during this time and how some of your grandparents were small children, a similar age to you now and their memories of VE day. Thank you for sharing those special moments with us especially at a time when we are missing our grandparents and extended family members. I've needed my hankie a few times this week, I can tell you!
This week has been fantastic weather-wise and it has brought huge smiles to our faces to see many of you enjoying wonderful family moments together in the garden: planting, digging, washing windows, cleaning cars, celebrating birthdays, painting with your feet and even bug hunting! Well done James who found a small lizard in his back garden and managed to handle it very gently to film it.
Enjoy your weekend everyone.
Stay safe and take care of each other
