Another busy week of home learning reception class.
It has been lovely to see you join in the daily phonics sessions and continue to apply your knowledge of special friend sounds to write words and accept the challenge to write sentences containing some of the words practised in the session.
Most of you can now write your full name which is fantastic as normally we just quickly write our initials or first name on work. A special well done to those who have two middle names and very long surnames !
In mathematics this week you have focused on counting forwards and backwards to and from 20, exploring one more or one less as well as comparing numbers. It has been lovely to see many of you searching around your home to collect 20 objects that your parents have hidden. I loved how you could tell your grown up how many you had found so far and how many more you still had to find. Amazing maths work reception!
Thank you for the lovely information videos for our new starter children explaining how you organise snack in reception. You spoke so clearly and confidently and with an awareness of the listener. There were some lovely personal touches in there and use of resources to help them visualise it. I am so proud of how brilliant these were!
In your project work this week you have been making shopping lists, reading recipe books, following instructions and designing your favourite menu.
Thank you for sharing all your wonderful moments across the week on Tapestry, we have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of your week.
