Well done Wybunbury, we've made it to the end of a shorter, but still busy, half term!!

We've completed our athletics unit. Years 2-6 have continued athletics with Sports Coaching. They have all been working hard on their throwing and jumping skills as well as speed bounce and relay. I was able to watch year 6 complete a '400m' relay around the daily mile track. They had to focus on pacing to try and maintain their speed over a longer distance as well as passing the baton with their hands out behind them, rather than their usual face to face baton changes. I was seriously impressed with their running! Well done year 6!!

Year 1 completed their unit by using the equipment to create activities to help consolidate the skills learned. We were amazing! We showed great ingenuity to create jumping, throwing and obstacle course activities. I'm super proud of how many children have learned, and mastered, skipping! Great job year 1!

Next term, PE will return to it's original format. I will teach years 1 — 6 on the following days: Tuesday- Years 4 & 1, Wednesday — Years 5 & 6, Thursday- Years 2 & 3. KS2 classes will also have an extra PE lesson from their class teachers who will let you know which days these will take place. Children are still to come to school in PE kits on their PE days. A quick reminder that PE kits need to follow uniform guidelines: black tracksuit bottoms, leggings or shorts, Wybunbury PE top or house colour/white t shirt, plain black or Wybunbury sports hoody and trainers. Please make sure jewellery is removed on PE days.

Now that organised children's sports are returning, I've attached some local club information in the pictures. Most sports clubs offer free trials for children to have a go and see if they enjoy taking part. Not only do clubs offer the opportunity to be active, they also allow children to meet and make new friends. If your child would like to try a particular sport, feel free to contact me pewybunbury@gmail.com and I will try to point you in the right direction to local clubs.

Have a wonderful, restful Easter holidays, I can't wait to see you all after the break!
Mrs Jenkins
