Our adventure this week at Preschool

Ahoy my wonderful shipmates!

Our adventure aboard our pirate ship has come to an end, but we ended it with a bang... We travelled all the way to China to celebrate Chinese New Year, the year of the Ox.

We enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year with Abbie and her family on Cbeebies, we painted pictures with chopsticks, we had a go at marking Chinese symbols, we joined in with our own dragon parade and enjoyed lots of crafts, including, making Chinese lanterns, blossom paintings, fans and dragons.

In our literacy, we listened to the story 'The Great Race' and learned how the Zodiac years were named by the Jade Emperor. This year was the year of the Ox and we had great fun making an Ox puppet and we researched to find out what zodiac year we were born.

In our mathematics, we recapped patterns. We have been making different repeating patterns using paint, pasta and treasure – great job!

All that is left for me to say is, thank you for a wonderful adventure these past few weeks, it hasn't quite been the adventure I had planned, but we still managed to have lots of fun and learn along the way – Preschool you are amazing (mummy's and daddy's included).
