Another week has flown by in Y3 and I can't believe we are nearing the end of our time in Y3...
These weeks are flying by, and we are packing so much into each of them. This week you have worked...
We have been busy bees once again in Year 2. In English this week, we have finished writing our...
Ahoy Swashbucklers! 'Shiver me Timbers', it's Friday!
You have had a busy two weeks of learning whether at home or at Preschool and you have worked so hard — give yourselves a 'marshmallow clap' and 'shine your halo' (Mummy's and daddy's included!)
It has been wonderful to hear and see how excited you have been by our new theme 'Pirates' and you have dived straight into your learning. I really look forward each day to seeing what you have been.
Last week I was super impressed with your 'sofa' boat/pirate ships and I loved hearing about your adventures aboard your ship. You created wonderful pirate hats, telescopes and maps, these will all come in handy when we set sail in search of treasure. You also enjoyed singing and dancing to the rhyme 'When I was One', learning how to talk like a pirate, explored maps, globes and atlases and you found lots of different ways to represent number 1 and 2 — what busy pirates!
This week we set sail on another adventure. We had a bumpy start to our journey changing our home learning platform from Tapestry to Seesaw but thankfully we have had a smooth ride since then — phew!
In your literacy tasks, you listened to the story 'Captain Flinn and the pirate Dinosaurs' and answered questions. You have also drawn a picture of the character Flinn.
In your mathematics tasks, you were introduced to number three and found different ways to represent number three.
It has been lovely to see your creations this week, you have made a new flag for Captain Stubble's ship the 'Acorn' and painted a picture of his ship and designed a new t-shirt for Flinn — great job!
In your other activities, you have explored sinking and floating, tackled different pirate yoga poses with Jamie, splashed in puddles, been to the dough disco with Libby and enjoyed stories with Ashleigh.
It's time to rest now shipmates before we begin a new adventure together next week.
I look forward to seeing all my crew next week whether virtually or in Preschool.
Take care and stay safe
'Captain Scallywag McBoatface' akaTara ;)
