Year 5 Weekly News 06.02.25

Year 5 have shown learning across many subjects this week. In our English lessons, we have written five fantastic paragraphs for our cliffhanger narratives. In our Maths learning, we have focused on more supportive mental rules. We have learnt about using the method of doubling and halving – when we had a number like 16 x 17 we could half 16 to become 8 and then double 17 to become 34. This made our calcualtion much easier to complete. We have also learnt about multiples and factors.
We have enjoyed lessons in Art, PE, Music, Science, History, Geography and RE this week.

Our wow moment to share this week is our completed Art work. We have been learning about using typography to make something visually appealing. We have created maps to showcase our skills. We based on Maps on either our school values or our Heartsmart learning. The children enjoyed taking time to consider what would be inside their map as well as how they would use mark marking to make this look appealing.

Maths.co.uk homework has been set.
