Welcome back Y2

What a fantastic first week we have had back after
Christmas. I loved hearing all about your Christmas holidays and what you had
been up to.

We started our week very differently as we couldn’t come to
school due to the snow. Instead, you completed some amazing home learning and
you even found some time for fun in the snow. I loved looking at all of your
different creations!

We came back to school on Wednesday ready to get back to our
learning. You excitedly found out that your new topic was FARMING. We had our
first history lesson where we focus on when farming first started. You couldn’t
believe that it was during the stone age before Jesus Christ was born! You
created a fantastic timeline to show when farming started.

We did some more animal learning in science where you looked
at what a living organism is and how we know something is alive.

In computing, we got the beebots out for the first time in
Y2. You looked at what an algorithm is and how we can input an algorithm into a
beebot. You really enjoyed using these.

In English, you’ve been busy writing diaries about the first
time you saw the dragon topiary. In maths, you have been super busy learning
about column addition.

It’s been an exciting week back and I am excited for the
rest of the term together.
