Preschool News 9.5.23

It is lovely to have everyone back to preschool after a sunny half term break. We have enjoyed seeing what you were all up to over the holidays with your brilliant posts on Seesaw.

This week we have started our new theme 'Mini Beasts' we have been joined this week by our first mini beasts some very tiny caterpillars! The children have been very sensible with them showing great care when looking at them.

We have started our main book of the term 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and we have begun to look at the lifecycle of a butterfly.

The children have learnt the sound 'i' this week and are continuing to practice their oral blending.

Our rhyme of the week has been '5 Little Speckled Frogs', and we have used this to begin to look at the makeup of '5' and to continue practicing our finger numbers and subitising.

In Heartsmart we have been learning to persevere and complete a challenge, matching and connecting Boris the robot's mixed up nuts and bolts.

The children have been making the most of the lovely weather, mixing in the mud kitchen, fishing in the water tray, and making up their own game of 'The floor is lava'.

We have been onto the school field and practiced running, balancing and racing.

Next week we will be joined by some new 'mini beasts' and will be continuing to learn about the lifecycle of the butterfly.
