This Week in Preschool!
This week, we've continued to embrace the festive season and enjoyed exploring our traditional tale, The Gingerbread Man. Here's a peek at our fun-filled activities:
Gingerbread Adventures
The children used their fine motor skills to decorate gingerbread men, acted out the story using stick puppets, and enjoyed playing with gingerbread-scented playdough. They loved bringing the story to life through hands-on activities and creative play.
Rhyme and Song Time
Our Christmas Nativity songs have taken center stage, but we've also revisited some old favorites. The children are singing beautifully and putting in so much effort during rehearsals.
Stories of the Season
We've enjoyed several Christmas stories this week, with The Story of Christmas, a retelling of the Nativity, as our featured book. These stories have sparked wonderful discussions about kindness, giving, and the true meaning of the season.
Christmas Nativity Performance
The children have been hard at work acting and singing for our Christmas Nativity performance. We'll continue recording next week, so hopefully everyone will be able to take part.
Letters to Santa
Our kindness elf has been busy delivering the children's cards and letters to Santa! They've been extra thoughtful and kind, carefully writing and posting their letters in our preschool post box.
Name Writing Practice
The children have started practicing writing their names, a wonderful skill they've been applying to their Christmas cards. We've also been working on some very special Christmas surprises for their families. (No spoilers--these are top-secret!)
Outdoor Fun
Our outdoor area has been a hit this week! The children have been blowing bubbles, driving cars, and enjoying our brand-new preschool path. These activities are a great way for them to release energy, build friendships, and enjoy fresh air.
Looking Ahead
Next week, we'll dive into the story Stick Man, sing a new festive rhyme, 5 Mince Pies in the Baker's Shop, and (fingers crossed!) wrap up our Nativity filming.
It's been a week filled with creativity, kindness, and holiday cheer. Ask your child about their favorite activity this week--whether it was decorating gingerbread men, writing to Santa, or rehearsing for the Nativity!
