Preschool News 6.10.23

This week in preschool we have been exploring what happens when we mix different colours together. The children had lots of fun mixing the colours, and mark making in the paint before using paper to print a picture.

We have been investigating our sense of hearing this week, we have been on a listening walk where we heard the wind blowing through the trees, cars, footsteps and children playing.
We have also tried to identify the different sounds in our sound bag and listened to the different animal sounds from the book 'Polar bear polar bear what do you hear?'

On Wednesday we made our own musical shakers, filling them with different materials to make different sounds. The children than used them at rhyme time to accompany our singing.

As part of our topic 'Wonderful Me' we have listened to the 'Family book' by Todd Parr and started sharing pictures of our families, thank you to all of you who have added some pictures to Seesaw, the children have really enjoyed sharing them with their friends.

We have also talked about how we celebrate harvest and we walked to the hall and office to show the children the donations that have been made to the food bank by the families throughout the school.

In Heartsmart we looked at the shapes Boris is made from and made our own Boris'
We then talked about how we are all different but all special. Bible Ref. 'I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way.

Next week we will be exploring our sense of smell and starting to talk about the autumn.
