Preschool News 21.04.23

This week in preschool we have started our new theme 'growing'
The children have started by planting different seeds such as peas, nasturtium and cosmos.
We have listened to the stories 'Jasper's Beanstalk' and 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and we have sung the rhyme '5 little peas'

In PSED we took part in our HeartSmart session where we learned how it is best to use true and kind words. We also listened to the stories of 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf' and 'Stick and Stone'

On Thursday the children were very excited to take part in Mr Dales Marathon Madness, they were fantastic running around the track and taking part in the activities (don't worry if your child missed this we will be recreating this at preschool next week!)

On Friday we celebrated Earth day by listening to the story 'Somebody Swallowed Stanley' and talking about the things we can do in preschool to help look after our planet. The children told us how we need to pick up our litter, recycle our rubbish and grow plants.

It has also been 'First aid week' in school this week. In preschool the children learnt that the first thing that you need to do if you or a friend is hurt, is to get help from a grown up. We also practiced our helping skills by putting a plaster onto a doll. The children then enjoyed playing with the doctor kits, listening to each other's hearts and sticking plasters on Helen!
