We have had a lovely week in preschool this week to finish off a busy first half term. The children have all been fantastic and we are very proud of how they have settled in to preschool life.

This week we have continued to look at autumn, we have sung the rhyme '3 little leaves' which has helped us to begin to learn the composition of 3. We have painted hedgehogs using forks to add texture and we have played a matching game with pictures of autumn objects.
We have also learned the words and actions to the Gruffalo song and listened to the Gruffalo story.

The children have enjoyed exploring the different types of autumn weather this week, we have played in the sun, wind and rain. Our favourite day was a sunny and windy day when we used windmills, bubbles and streamers to explore the wind.
The drain pipes and  were also a popular activity, with the children showing great perseverance and determination using the tricky litter pickers to return the balls.

We have been looking at our sense of taste this week, with the children tasting different fruits at snack time and choosing which they preferred. We also tasted the difference between some sweet syrup and sour lemon.

We have also started to look at patterns this week, looking at the patterns we wear on our clothes and the patterns that can be found in the natural world such as a zebra's stripes and a snake's scales.

Next term we will begin by meeting Patch the Pumpkin and we will start our people who help us and transport topics.

We hope you all have a lovely restful half term break!
