This week we have had another very busy week. In literacy we have continued to read our traditional tales. The children have started to story map the Three Little Pigs and have drawn pictures of their favourite story characters.

We read a winter story and then made bird feeders, which we hung on the tree, to help the birds who stay with us for the winter.

The children have enjoyed mark making on our new writing board, with some fantastic pictures being drawn and some lovely name writing.

We have been practicing our fine motor skills, with the children snipping paper straws, trying their best to use the scissors correctly. They have also been working hard at the playdough table, rolling, squeezing, and cutting out the dough.

In our messy tray we have explored gloopy porridge and also rice with bottles and scoops.

There has been lots of lovely role playing this week, with the children using thier experiences and imaginations to act out cooking in the kitchen and picnics in the park.

We have been looking at the number 4 this week and celebrated number day by making stars and by counting with Pete the Cat and his 4 Groovy Buttons.

In our Heartsmart session we worked together with our teammates taking turns to be the 'helper' by picking up the bean bag for our friend.

The children have enjoyed the drier weather, playing outside in the mud kitchen and the sand as well as making up thier own racing and chasing games.
