Preschool news 15.2.24

What a lovely week we have had to finish a very busy half term.

On Monday we started 'first aid week' by learning what first aid is, what to do if one of our friends is hurt (tell a grown up) and how to safely put a plaster on our dolls.

The children enjoyed celebrating pancake day on Tuesday, we played a game of pass the pancake, working together to move the pancake around the circle, we practiced tossing the pancakes (this got a little messy!) and we read the story of Mr Wolfs Pancakes.

On Wednesday the children talked about the people they love and made cards for one of their special people. We read a story about how even if we are grumpy we are still loved.

We talked some more about first aid on Thursday again practicing putting a plaster on and then taking turns to try a sling or to be bandaged up.
We also enjoyed a PE session of sticky kids with a favourite activity being zooming to the moon.

We have also been working together using straw, sticks and bricks to build houses for the three little pigs, this is not as easy as you would think!

We have continued to listen to our traditional tale and lots of rhyming stories this week. The children are getting really good at making up their own rhymes now and are frequently pointing out rhyming words to us.

Next term we will be moving onto our new Time Travellers topic, looking into the past at Dinosaurs.
We will also be introducing our new traditional tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
