Preschool News 14.07.23

This week in preschool we have been bringing our mini beast theme to an end.

Excitingly the children found a snail in the preschool garden. They decided to move him to the safety of recptions fantastic bug hotel and then asked if we could make our own bug home. We then went on an exploring walk through the school grounds to find sticks, bark and leaves to use and then worked really hard together to build our own mini bug hotel. Well done preschool!

The children also worked really hard to make their own spider webs, they drew a picture of a spider on a paper plate, used a hole punch to make holes around the edge and then threaded wool through to make the web.

We have shared the story of 'Share a Shell' by Julia Donaldson this prompted a discussion with the children on how nice it is to share and play nicely wih our friends, and to incude everybody in our play.

We have joined in with a 'Creepy Calypso' song and looked at different types of musical instruments including a guitar.

The children have all used their own ideas to decorate their own paper bags which they will bring home any bits and bobs from preschool when we break up, they have also been finishing a last self portrait picture to finalise their mark making books for the year.

Next week we will be celebrating summer and saying goodbye to our friends each day as the week goes by.
