This week in preschool we have been joined by a new friend – our Dingle Dangle Scarecrow!
The children had great fun on Wednesday building him and singing him our rhyme of the week. They all drew their own scarecrow faces and helped to decide what he should look like.
We have continued our growing theme with the children planting on their beans in a bag, hopefully they will be ready to grow on at home soon! The children have also made cress heads this week, we are hoping for lots of lovey green hair.
We have made the most of a donation of wallpaper rolls with the children enjoying some big markmaking, practicing their sound of the week 's' and drawing some fantastic pictures.
We have also played a favourite 'Fred game' cross the river with the children trying to orally blend two and three sound words.
In our Heartsmart session this week the children practiced their acting skills pretending to be different animals, we then talked about even though it is fun pretending to be something else it is good to be our special selves.
On Friday we enjoyed playing the 'bean game' with the children showing great listening skills, joining in with the actions of all of the different beans.
Next week we will be listening to the story 'Handa's Surprise', trying out some new fruit and exploring repeating patterns.
