Preschool News 07.10.22

This week in preschool we have been exploring what happens when we mix colours in different ways. We have combined red, yellow and blue to make lots of different shades of orange, purple and green and then mixed these together to make a variety of other colours.

For our topic Wonderful Me we have explored our sense of hearing, with the children walking around the school grounds on a listening walk. The children were fantastic at being quiet so they could hear the wind blowing in the trees, the cars driving past and an aeroplane that they couldn't see. We have also enjoyed listening to the story 'Polar Bear Polar Bear What can you Hear?' We used our good listening ears to hear the different sounds that the animals from the story made.

In our circle time this week we have listened to the story 'Hippo is Happy' and we all shared what makes us happy with our friends.

We have made pictures of our Heartsmart robot Boris, discussing what 2D shapes we could use. We made sure to remember to add a heart!

We have also worked out who had more? in our Maths session, and the children have been helping us to count how many people are in preschool every day.

The children have continued to enjoy learning in our outdoor area; building, balancing and finding some amazing minbeasts!

Next week we are going to be looking at the changes Autumn brings, exploring our sense of touch and looking at the composition of 3 with our new rhyme '3 little leaves'
