What a busy week we have had in preschool this week.
We have been on our very own mini beast hunt through the preschool and reception gardens. We found lots of different mini beasts including three different types of lady bird, a green caterpillar, ants, a woodlouse, a butterfly and a bee.
In carpet time we wrote our own oral story called 'The fox who hurt his ear', the children then went on to draw their own stories, they were amazing!
We read the story 'The Colour Monster goes to school' and have been working our way through our favourite book basket, with the children choosing some lovely stories to end the day.
We have made beautiful butterfly paintings by painting one side an folding the picture over so we could look at how the patterns on each wing are the same.
The children have also been drawing around different shapes to make pictures.
We have also finger painted some repeating pattern caterpillars, trying hard to make abab patterns.
In the outdoor area the children have been practicing thier tennis skills, and have continued to play with the drain pipes, pouring water and rolling balls.
The week finished spectacularly with an amazing sports day. Well done preschool you were fantastic, Helen, Kim and Meg were very proud of you all!
A big thank you to the year 5 helpers who were also fantastic, you will make great buddies next year.
Next week we will be reading some more stories to help us with the transition to reception and enjoying some music with the mini beast bop!
