What a week we have had Year 6. You have worked extremely hard and you should be really proud of yourselves.

We have worked through our final Maths unit before we sit our SATs papers next week and recapped other areas too. We have plotted co-ordinates, translated and reflected shapes. We have used a 2024 Maths Reasoning Paper as an open test and worked through the questions as a team. We have also sat the 2024 Arithmetic SATs Paper.

Our English lessons have been dedicated to Spelling and Grammar SATs Papers and our Book Club lessons have seen us completing Reading SATs Papers. We have also managed to complete our spelling programme and revisited some of our Year 6 spelling patterns. We have also set our classroom up, so we know what to expect on Monday.

During the afternoons we have recapped our Maths and SpaG knowledge and played different games to recap our learning. We have also managed to fit in two PE lessons, an RE lesson, Welling Being, PSHE and a VE Day celebration lesson.

We celebrated VE Day by enjoying a picnic lunch on the field. We also joined in the Great Big Live Assembly and listened to different stories told by veterans. We ensured we were all ready for our two minutes silence and even heard the bells from the Wybunbury Tower.

We enjoyed watching our buddies' worship today and ended our week with them on the adventure trail.

I have not set any new homework, so please get lots of rest over the weekend and enjoy the sunshine.

Your teacher.
Mrs B.
