We have continued to work on our algebra unit this week and worked so hard on our resilience as this is unit is testing us. We will complete it next week. We ended our week with an arithmetic paper which gave us the opportunity to apply our daily arithmetic skills. I have set homework to help to consolidate our learning.

We have worked hard on our explanation writing this week. We have used different adaptation website links to think about animals and their features. We have gathered ideas and then used them to create different cause and effect sentences.

Our book club sessions this week were dedicated to Steps to Read. We have summarised different paragraphs of Darwin's journey and answered anchor questions with confidence.

We have enjoyed our class story each day which has enabled us to think about our Forest Schools sessions too.

We enjoyed our next Inheritance lesson in Science this week as we used dog DNA (also known as paper strips) to create a new breed. We then labelled our features and went to draw our new breed and give it a name.

We thoroughly enjoyed our penultimate forest schools lesson this week. We thought about the items we would need to survive in the wild and challenged each other over our choices. We then went on to build our fires and learnt how to feed them and keep them alight. We continued with our bow and arrow techniques and changed the distance from the boards to see who could aim from a distance.

We have used two variables in computing this week to programme a scoreboard using Scratch. We added voice and some backgrounds to our games.

This week in art we created our backgrounds using different textured wallpaper in readiness for our activism artwork. This will form the base for our screen printing.

We enjoyed listening to different stories across different faiths during our Interfaith week. We answered probing questions as a group to find the moral of each story.

We began our next unit during our Courageous Advocacy lessons using Archie B as our link. We are now looking at different inspirational leaders and why they are thought in this way. We have all chosen a key person to research and present our findings to the class.

We spent some time this week talking about friendships and what they look like in Year 6. We discussed many different aspects and voiced our thoughts on each one. We also thought about how easy it is to be a good friend and how hard we are finding it to stick up for our friends. We all want to make the most of the short time we have at Wybunbury Delves and we will keep on talking to each other to ensure this happens.

We discussed generations who came before us this week in PSHE. We talked about famous people from the past and the sacrifices they made which have impacted our lives today. Good people leave an inheritance to their grandchildren. Proverbs 13:22.

We came together to enjoy our Mental Health activity with our favourite buddies. We chatted about things we think we are good at and those we would like to improve. We recorded our ideas and enjoyed finding out more about each other. We have enjoyed Wellbeing this week and worked in our own journals.

We have also taken part in a PE session with Kick and enjoyed music with Miss Holland.

We ended our week on the daily mile track with our buddies.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend.
Your teacher.
Mrs B.
