Well Y6, what an adventure you have been on! We arrived at Edale Activity Centre on Wednesday afternoon to begin our first ice-breaking activity and played some great games. We settled into our dormitories and then went off for tea. We certainly needed our strength as our night-time activity was a night hike. With our torches on, off we went. Down paths, over fields, and up hills. We trekked for two hours in the dark with just our torches to guide us. Our first night was a night of little sleep, but we all still managed to be up and ready for an 8 o'clock breakfast.

Over the two days our groups have enjoyed canoeing, weaselling, and abseiling. All three activities were off the Edale site and amongst stunning countryside. We even visited a farm and enjoyed farm-made scoops of ice-cream. We used minibuses to get from one place to another and enjoyed arriving at different locations. We canoed on a reservoir, weaselled amongst boulders and rocks, and abseiled down a viaduct. All children have certainly been challenged and have definitely risen to it. They are very proud of themselves and so am I. Everyone has been impeccably behaved and I have received many compliments from Edale staff. Well done Y6.

We also spent time as a class doing a night treasure hunt and then finished our evening in the games room playing table tennis, snooker and table football. We grouped together to play uno and dobble before heading off to bed. We all had a good night's sleep on our second night, and this gave us the energy this morning to pack up and strip our beds.

We completed our activities this morning, and the before heading home, we enjoyed a picnic outside and then walked down to meet our coach.

A big thank you to Miss Welch and Mrs Whittingham who have left their own families to support Y6 throughout this amazing trip. I couldn't have done this without you both. Thank you.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get lots of rest ready for your final week before half term. I cannot believe Y6 that you are coming into your last term at Wybunbury Delves. Just one more week to go and what a great way to end your term. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you all try different activities, and I am very blessed to be your class teacher. We have all loved our adventure. I will post more photos as the week goes on for you to enjoy.

Your teacher,
Mrs. B.
