In Year 4, we have shone in so many ways this week. Young Voices was a real highlight and we can't thank Year 4 enough for their efforts, levels of enjoyment and smiles. It was a pleasure to take you all to be a apart of such an amazing event,
In Maths, our attitude to learning has been wonderful this week. We have applied our prior knowledge to our new lessons and taken our learning forward to divide 2 digit numbers to leave remainders. One strategy that has really helped us, is the part whole method. We have used the steps confidently to divide and we have used inverse operation of multiplication to help find our answers.
Our English work this week has enabled us to think about writing our shared model write and plan our final versions.
NSPCC Number Day saw a wonderful array of costumes arrive in our classroom on Friday morning. Thank you for all your efforts to showcase Numbers in different contexts and our links to TT Rockstars. We celebrated Number Day by taking part in a TT Rockstars battle and by creating a shape number puzzle. We enjoyed challenging ourselves to look for the difference on each side of the square. These square rotated and we continued each shape until we found a difference of 0.
We have really enjoyed preparing our Interfaith work this week. We learnt about the story of the Rainbow Crow. We started by listening to the story and considering what the moral to the story is. We felt the story explained that many people choose to sacrifice something for the benefits of others. We then looked at the art work of Hannah Dunnett. We used this art to inspire our own pieces based on the Rainbow Crow and how different religions share the same values.
In our computing lesson this week, we continued to add to our Google Slides. This week's focus was on adding a hyperlink to a suitable website to show more information about Henry VIII.
In Science, we have continued to learn about electrical circuits by drawing a circuit diagrams. We realised that the symbols were a great way to record a circuit. We labelled a circuit and drew one of our own.
Miss Holland taught us how to use the next note on our brass instruments this week. We practised the tunes we had learnt last week.
In our HeartSmart lesson, we talked about ways we let love into our hearts. We closed our eyes and searched our hearts for a memory of when someone has spoken a really kind word or done something lovely for us. We then drew that memory. Bible Reference- 'The second command is this: Love your neighbour as you love yourself.' Mark 12:31
This week we have set your next Maths homework.
Have a wonderful week!
