Today, Year 4 celebrated their history topic with a Chinese theme day – and what a fun day we had!
This morning, we learnt how to write our names in traditional Chinese lettering. We also spent time perfecting our chopstick skills with lots of fun team games.
We practised creating oracle bones, designing our own versions of these ancient artefacts using hand-drawn symbols to pose questions – just as people in the Shang dynasty might have done centuries ago.
Let's not forget about all the delicious food we sampled! We thoroughly enjoyed using our chopsticks to try spring rolls, prawn crackers, seaweed, and seaweed biscuits. A highlight for many was opening our fortune cookies and sharing kind wishes and messages with our class team.
A huge thank you to all the families who supported the day by providing bright costumes and traditional clothing. Your contributions helped make the day extra special. Please take a look at our pictures to see more of our day.
We had a truly brilliant time, and we hope the children did too.
