Wow. What a wonderful final week before Christmas.

We have had a fun filled week!

In our last week of term, we have been motivated to be wonderful non fiction writers and have been writing our information report about polar bears. We have worked hard to write four fantastic paragraphs telling you everything you needed to know!

Our maths focus has continued to be multiplication and division. Learning about factor pairs has given us an opportunity to practise our times table facts. We have also learnt how to multiply and divide by 10 using the process of the digits of a number moving on a place value grid.

As readers, we have enjoyed spending time practising our reading aloud.

In PE, we reviewed our learning by talking about what makes a good defender and a good attacker. It was great to hear your feedback in how you have developed your skills this term. Our lesson also focused on attacking decisively and remaining focused when the ball isn't in your area.

We have completed our DT unit this week. We spent time with our target audience to gather market research. Adults in school tried our biscuits and we asked them a range of questions to gather feedback from them. We loved hearing what we thought! In our following lesson, we reviewed the biscuits ourselves considering our own design criteria. We have really enjoyed this new DT unit. From all of the leftover dough we had, we have been able to make amazing Christmas biscuits to end our final week of 2024.

We also squeezed in a little Geography by ordering the names of different settlements that can be found in the Americas.

In our Heartsmart lesson this week, we focused on how unique we are. To prove this, we measured parts of ourselves. We used this lesson to point out that we are all wonderfully made and wonderfully different. There is not one person in the roomwho is the same as us. In fact, there is not a person in the whole world like us!

We continued to work on our computing lessons this week. Computing this week allowed us to learn more about the art of creating podcasts. Having already learnt about recording sounds and trimming our recordings, we moved on to learn about layering sounds. We listened to a podcast which encompassed spoken voice and sound effects alongside each other. We then learnt how we could download a sound effect, import it into our sound app and then add this alongside our voice recording. We explored how we could lower and increase the volumes of our sound effects when they had been added. We also planned our own podcasts thinking of the words and use of additional sounds.

Across the week, we have also enjoyed our Christmas activities including our wonderful Pantomine!

This week, we were thrilled to be able to share our Christmas service with you. We loved celebrating the message of Christmas at church with Year 3! Thank you to everyone who came to watch.

We have not set any homework for Christmas. We just hope that you enjoy your festive time together.

Thank you for all of our gifts and cards and well wishes. It is so very kind. We look forward to seeing you all after the Christmas break. Have a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year!
