Happy Summer Holidays Year 4!

We have worked hard to complete our power maths lessons this week. In our English, we have edited our final piece of Year 4 writing.

In our mornings, we have completed tasks and enjoyed finishing off a variety of activities.

In French, we learnt the names of our school subjects and asked each other questions to see which subjects we like.

In our RE lessons, we have completed our prayer stations that we started last week. We showed creativity, love and attention to detail. We then chose places we wanted to display them around school for everyone to use! We then went on to learn more about how people of different faiths pray. We focused on four in particular, Sikhism, Hinduism, Judaism and Buddhism. We then completed our questful map for this unit.

In Science this week, we have learnt about pitch. We learnt how instruments create different pitch and how this is different to volume. We enjoyed experimenting with the instruments to see what different sounds we could make.

During our wellbeing time we had a great activity to reflect on all the strategies we learnt about this year. We decided which ones were our favourite and then thought about how they could be displayed in our new Y5 classroom.

In our Heartsmart lesson, we thought about our dreams for the future. We spoke about them as our goals and wishes. We then made our own dream boards. We really loved thinking about our wishes for the future.

In our computing lessons this week, we have completed our scratch games and evaluated their effectiveness to complete our coding unit. We then went on to continue learning about media. We learnt how to use the cloning tool to add more or remove certain parts of a picture. We considered why people may choose to edit their photos in this way.

We enjoyed a visit from PC Nick this week to remind us about the importance of staying safe online.

Today, we have also had time to reflect on our learning by looking through our books, playing games together and spending time outside.

Mrs Pointon and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Year 4 for the wonderful year of memories we have had together! You have all worked so hard and been real shining lights. We hope you enjoy looking back at the older pictures. We would like to also thank everyone for your messages, thoughtful gifts, and well wishes. We are truly grateful.
