It has been lovely being back in school this week! We have been so busy and enjoying getting back into our routine. I cannot believe it is our last term together!

On Tuesday, in the morning we recapped multiplying and dividing 2 digit numbers by 1 digit number. You did so well at this! In English, you told me all about what you have done over Easter! These have been lovely to read and see what adventures you have got up to over Easter. In the afternoons in HeartSmart you discovered who Elizabeth Everest was. We now know how special and kind she was to our previous Prime Minister – Winston Churchill. We learnt how much she looked after Winston as a young boy and how he formed a strong emotional attachment to her, as his nanny. If it had not been for Elizabeth caring for Winston, he would have been very lonely. Elizabeth carried out kind acts quietly and lovingly. We spoke about how caring for people is an incredibly significant act and it's what our unit – Too Much Selfie Isn't Healthy is all about. We then designed an award to honour Elizabeth for the way she looked after Winston. Bible Reference – 'God is fair; he will not forget the work you did and the love you showed for him by helping his people. And he will remember that you are still helping them.' Hebrews 6:10

On Wednesday, in maths you did a lesson about multiplication,  following powermaths. In English you did your cold task for Talk4Writing, all about a wish your character might have and how they made it come true. In the afternoon, you designed your landscape for our big art project. You then worked on code studio to create loops and use the grabbing tool.

On Thursday, in maths you started to problem solve using multiplication and division! These questions were tricky but we worked together and used all manipulatives to help you solve the problems. Then we started to create our big art pieces. You copied out your design onto a piece of card. You then got different coloured paper and PVA glue to create a collage effect. You made sure your strips of paper were small and that you were using the correct colours. Then, you completed your hot tasks for last terms geography and science topics. You showed me how well you have learnt all about the different climates and forces and magnets. Well done year 3.

On Friday, in maths you continued to problem solve using multiplication and division. Then after break, some of you finished off your big art and some of you finished off your D&T project from last term creating moveable figures. In the afternoon, you had RE and music. In RE, you started a new unit on discipleship. We looked at rules and where they come from. In music, we looked briefly at 'what we know about Stevie Wonder' and started to look at Gospel music – sang : swing low, this train, oh when the saints, I wanna sing, and he's got the whole world in his hands.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I will see you on Monday!
