Y3 News 14.10.22

What a lovely week we have had year 3! I cannot believe it’s almost half term already!

In English this week, you have created your boxing up and wrote your hot write! Your characters are getting lost in Pompeii and are warned to stay away from the terrifying Mount Vesuvius! I wonder what is lurking in the mountain!

In maths, you have been working on your addition and subtraction skills. You have been adding and subtracting 10s from 3 digit numbers. You have had the extra challenge of exchanging! This was tricky but you have smashed it!

In history this week, you explored what happened after the Romans invaded Britain. You found out that lots of things were brought to the England by the Romans such as some of our city names and words we use today.

In D&T, you look at the different Roman God and Goddesses and designed your own moveable Roman God or Goddess.

In science, this week in science you finished off your story board about how fossils are created.

In computing, you continued to explore stop motion and used the app “Stop Motion”. Used the app and wrote your names on a whiteboard and watched how they grew each time. You all have become stop motion experts and I cannot wait to see our main projects!

In RE, you explored the Holy Trinity and how Christian’s view god as 3 things but one person. We looked at how we can have 3 different traits yet still be one person. You also decorated the symbol with “The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit”.

We also explored our courageous advocacy and created posters to raise awareness of reusing, reducing and recycling plastic.

I cannot wait to see what we get up to next week, our last week before half term!
