What would you put into an Easter story story sack was a topic of conversation in one of our RE lessons this week. We discussed the items we could chose and how we might feel if we were there. We spoke confidently about the feelings of sadness and joy.

In English last week, we wrote our final paragraphs of the return narratives. We spent time editing our work and are ready to write up into our posh author books next week. I am so proud of how hard you are all working with your handwriting, word choices and punctuation. We then moved onto our next write around Jemmy Button and wrote a short diary write all about his experience in the city. We are becoming experts at working out our past tense verbs and words that tell us the sentence is written in the present perfect tense. We spotted examples and wrote our own sentences based on how Jemmy Button feels. This week, we focused on writing the letter from Jemmy to his family back in the jungle. You wrote as Jemmy, telling them all about his adventures, good and bad, in the city. You worked hard again Y3 and they were a pleasure to read!

As historians, we uncovered lots of facts about the location of Egypt, and how the climate may affect the way people live there. We focussed on the food that could be grown and the clothes that were worn.

In our final PE lesson in this unit, we put all of our defending and attacking skills together to play some games of endball.

In PSHE, we began by learning what it means to build trust amongst your friends and how it feels when this trust is broken. We thought about how Simba's trust is broken within the Lion King film and used this to help us remember that it can take time to rebuild trust. We also learnt about treating everyone as individuals. We read some descriptions of people's likes and dislikes and future careers, and this reminded us that we can all like different things and have aspirations to have all sorts of future careers. We were blown away by your thoughtful answers demonstrating how much love and respect you have for each other. This links to 'Love does not count up wrongs that have been done.' 1 Corinthians 13:4-5. We then reviewed our learning relating to Don't hold on to what is wrong. We had a great discussion about all the feelings we can experience. We also created a feelings iceberg and talked about the things that might make us angry. This links to our bible quote, Love does not count up wrongs that have been done. 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

We also invited PC Nick into our classroom to share the important messages of staying safe as a pedestrian, as a passenger and as a cyclist on the road.

What a musical couple of weeks we have had! Wow year 3! You shone brightly in your Singfest concert! Your effort and behaviour was exemplary, and you represented our school brilliantly. We are so proud of all of you. Thank you to everyone who performed in the Rocksteady concert on Monday, it was a pleasure to be in the audience to witness all of your amazing talents.

This week, we had our final swimming lesson. Mrs Parker and I would like to say what a pleasure it has been to take you swimming each week. Your behaviour has been fantastic and your attitude towards your lessons has just just as brilliant. Well done Y3, you super swimmers!

Our Maths learning has now moved onto to learning all about capacity and volume. Our classroom was filled with measuring containers, as we looked closely at the units of measure; millilitres and litres. We then used different scales to find out the missing marked intervals. We are recognising when the scale counts up in steps of 10, 20, 25, 50, 100.....

As Geographers, we have come to the end of our learning all about climate and weather. We have really got to grips with our new vocabulary and worked hard to share our most recent learning about climate zones and biomes. Mrs Chesters was very impressed, well done Year 3!

Have a wonderful Easter break.
