This week in preschool, we have had another exciting and busy week full of learning and fun.

In maths, we revisited number 3, practicing counting, subitising, and finding different ways to represent it.

In literacy, we explored the story 'We All Go Travelling By' and enjoyed singing 'The Wheels on the Bus'. The children had great fun acting out different parts of the rhyme, including swishy-swashy wipers, sleeping babies, and children bouncing up and down.
We also created oral stories together, thinking of lots of imaginative characters and using our favorite way to start a story: "Once upon a time."
The children have also continued to enjoy our traditional tale, The Three Little Pigs, listening to several different versions of the story.
We have also been working on our rhyming skills playing games of silly soup and matching the rhyming pictures.

In our Heartsmart session, we talked about what a happy face looks like. The children worked together to sort photos into a 'happy hoop,' identifying happy and not happy faces.

We experienced some awe and wonder this week, spotting a beautiful rainbow on a sunny, rainy day and exploring the very windy weather on Friday. The children loved playing with bubbles, streamers, and windmills in the wind.

For our fine motor skills we have been threading beads onto strings, trying hard to fill them right to the top!

In the craft area, the children built their own junk model cars, thinking carefully about how many wheels to add. Our small world area has also been a big hit, with the children creating huge tracks with the Happyland road and setting up the fire station and houses for imaginative play.

Outdoors, we've had lots of fun riding on our balance bikes (a huge thank you for the generous donation!), brushing bubbles in the rain, and driving toy cars through the mud. We have also been building houses and pretending to be the three little pigs and practicing hitting the bullseye by throwing balls with accuracy.

Next week, we'll be continuing with our travel theme and exploring even more exciting activities!
