In our Maths lesson last week we learnt all about symmetry. We started by finding symmetrical shapes within patterns. We looked at images made up of multiple shapes and found where the lines of symmetry were. Then we moved on to make our own symmetrical patterns. The children drew a line of symmetry down the centre and create a symmetrical pattern made up of colourful squares. Finally, we moved on to complete symmetrical shapes using lines and other linear materials.
In our English lessons last week you all created the most beautiful leaflets which showcased our school. The idea of this task is to have leaflets in our reception which visitors can read from the children's point of view. We started by exploring what non-chronological reports look like. Then we planned and wrote our own leaflets. You wrote about 'what our school is like, what the teachers are like, what we learn and what our lessons are like'. You came up with lots of fantastic information and presented your information beautifully.
Isabelle has made a video sharing her leaflet, it can be found here.
In our afternoons last week we focused on the environment. You explored what the weather is like around the world, how we can use recycled materials to spread the word about the importance and need to recycle and much more!
Our PE challenge last week was basketball. So many of you showed how you could dribble the basketball around a course for 1 minute.
I am so proud of all the work you continue to share with me and I am so proud of the leaflets your created to describe our school!
Have a lovely week,
