Our week has been one of two halves as some children returned to class whilst others continued with their home learning. Whichever group you have been in, you have continued to complete many different activities and I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at them all.
In English this week we have discovered uninhabited islands, we have advertised cities we would like to visit and we have thought about how water should be available to all. We have completed SpaG activities and had fun with a quiz or two. Year 6 you have had a busy week and you are a dream to work with.
Maths has seen our class tackling fractions as we recapped multiplying and dividing proper and mixed numbered fractions. You have used the bar model to show your understanding and carefully worked with calculations that needed several steps to find the answers. I am so proud of your knowledge and how far you have come with fractions. They are not an easy concept and you are all flying.
It would have been Wimbledon this week and we have dusted off our rackets and brushed up on our skills as we took to the court (well playground) to enjoy a rally with our friends. We used cones and hoops for target practise and finished our sessions with a fun group game.
During our afternoons we have enjoyed finding out about different countries as we researched their flags and the colours and symbols used. We even created a new Union Jack! We have also created a modern day headdress and compared them to early Mesolithic ones.
I am currently in the process of organising a Leavers Service video. I will be sending out words to be recorded and returned via seesaw if you are a home learner, and if you are in school we will record these in class.
I am so proud of you all, whether you have returned to class or continued with your learning at home, you are all stars.
Have a wonderful weekend and let's hope for some sunshine next week.
