Hi Year 2! This week we continued our home learning after the Easter break. It has been so lovely to see all of your work, through photos, videos and voice notes. You make me and Mrs Parker smile each time we see you...even if it is virtually!

In maths this week, we have been learning all about statistics, in particular tally charts and bar charts. You counted up information and recorded these in tallies and then in bar charts and pictograms. I have been very impressed with Year 2s results on TTRock Stars too. You are all rock stars! Well done everybody.

Our English task this week was all about character description after watching the video of the short story The Ugly Sharkling. By the end of the week, you built up to creating your own character who had lost something and we had some fantastic and very creative ideas. We had The stingray that lost its sting, the seahorse that lost its fin, the octopus that lost its voice, the turtle that had no shell, the octopus that lost its colour and the tiger fish who lost his stripes, to name but a few! At the end of the week, we recapped about capital letters and you made posters to explain when to use a capital letter. I loved seeing them all.

You have been showing me lots of your reading and I have loved the videos. I have been reading The Enchanted Wood by Enid Blyton to you all. We have shared five chapters so far! I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am reading it to you. I know Mrs Parker has some special books to read to you next week too.

You have also completed some afternoon project work and showed off some more skills! I am so proud of each and every one of you.

Have a lovely weekend and I will see you all on Seesaw on Monday.
