Happy New Year, year one! This is not the way we wanted to start our new year but everyone has...
Last Week's Year 2 News
This week we have been busy writing a biography of Bob the Man on the Moon! We used our skills from last week to create a fantastic piece of work which included interesting openers. Well done Year 2.
In Maths, we moved onto a new topic — Money! We have been learning about the different coins and notes, and we have also been learning how to count money using a number line too.
During our afternoons, we started to prepare for our Science experiment! The task is to design a boat using the appropriate materials. To start, we recapped the properties of materials and then using this knowledge we designed a boat in our partner teams. Each team hopes that they have designed the winning boat that floats and keep our Lego figures safe! Next week, we're moving onto the making the boats and then testing them out! I'm excited.
We also went on to learn about coding this week. We learnt what an algorithm was and how to create one. We used this knowledge to design an algorithm to get the alien back to his spaceship. We also completed a wellbeing activity where we talked about how we can keep our minds and
bodies healthy. This included thinking about things that make us happy.
I hope you've all had a great weekend,
Miss P
