Forest School - Shelters

Home » News » Forest School - Shelters

Our Forest School after school club was a hive of activity this week!

We firstly made a natural shelter in under 10mins and then worked in teams to create a shelter using tarpaulin, rope and pegs. Mr Hadfield shared the skills we needed and then we set about completing the task. What amazing team work! We also saw resilience and perseverance when things didn't always work first time.

By the end of the session we created mini fires using kindling and we learnt how to stack the kindling in the shape of a hashtag. Around the fire pit we encouraged each other to use the fire sticks, and this in turn helped us to build upon our skills from last week.

Another fabulous session!
